North Fork Chai Co is a wonderful local place for coffee, chai, tea, and some food. We stopped on our way to a day of paddle boarding and got iced coffees, a scone, and avocado toast. All were wonderful! They have a nice selection of food and drinks. Also, they have fresh sourdough bread (really good!!) and quite a few other fun items. Very nice seating areas. Easy access and parking from the 80 right at Indian Hill. Highly recommended. Enjoy!!

We've been going since 2018 and this place represents everything that is great about small businesses. The food and coffee are fantastic, and consistent. The thing that makes this place truly special though is that they keep reinvesting in the business and improving in areas that you don't even realize can be improved upon, until they are. They don't have to as the food and coffee are enough to carry the business but they keep optimizing EVERYTHING, with the customer in mind. They've improved the outdoor seating area 4 times over (paint, heaters, seating, patio, etc.), improved the flow for getting customers their scones more quickly, optimized where/how food comes out. It's cool to see the little adjustments they are constantly making. We are huge fans and will continue to be!
I’ve been wanting to visit North Fork Chai Co. in Newcastle for a while now! Many of my favorite local coffee shops use North Fork’s chai syrup, and it’s my go-to for making dirty chais at home—so I was excited to finally stop by. My wife and I visited today for coffee and some treats, and it did not disappoint. I ordered their seasonal Coconut Chai flavored dirty chai, and it had just the right amount of coconut flavor—smooth, balanced, and delicious. I paired it with their avocado toast, which was fresh and satisfying. My wife had the Breakfast Brioche Sandwich, and it was packed with flavor. We couldn’t resist trying a couple of scones: the strawberry apricot scone and the vanilla bean scone with dirty chai glaze. Both were perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth—moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The location itself is inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine. Inside, they offer a variety of goods to take home, from teas and jams to coffee beans, mugs, and more. Overall, we had a great experience sitting out front, enjoying our sunny morning. Their chai syrup alone is enough to make me love this place, but after this first visit, I’m even more excited to return!
This place is always great. Their scones are delicious - and I'm not a scone person. They use all natural ingredients. On Friday and Saturday mornings they also have breakfast burritos, which are so good they sell out by mid-morning. Their coffee and espresso drinks are always consistently good.
Delicious chai and a cozy atmosphere! Kind staff and the owner is humble and kind. Highly recommend.
Speaking of 'gem of the foothills' , North Fork Chai Co. has definitely placed itself among the treasures found in Newcastle, California. As we all take on our daily grind, what better way to start as with North Fork. I love my morning exchanges Judah as he takes my order. I want to try other drinks but the coffee 'the answer' has hold of me. Josh is amazing and is expert at his craft. It shows. What a gem of a place!
Like a hug in your mug. This place is incredible! From their barista pulling perfect espresso shots, to the beautiful latte art he pours while in a casual conversation. Their food they sell is fantastic. I haven’t tried it all but I love the vinegars and of course the Chai. First timers go for the dirty Chai. You won’t regret it! And in PSL season go for the Pumpkin Chai. No indoor seating so chilly morning sunrises are cozy with everyone in line trying to stay warm. And bring a big blanket to wrap up in on the front porch. My wishlist: Outdoor heaters for their cute outdoor space Gluten free food options, they have a very limited selection Soy milk Open at 7
Exactly what you’d hope for chai! Have been visiting since opening day and was a purchaser prior to the cafe opening. Chelsea and Josh provide a cozy environment with eclectic and creatively sourced decor. The food is top notch and unlike anything else available in the area, near or far. Special shout out to the coffee when not having the chai… it’s incredible and hard to come by another cup from elsewhere that compares. For the chai lovers, this is a special gift. Perfect level of sweetness without feeling like syrup. The boldness of the fresh herbs and spices are a beautiful balance to whatever milk of your choosing is paired with. Busy most days and certainly worth the wait. Thank you Chelsea, Josh & family for bringing this gem to our sweet town.
